Asha Workers play an important role in realizing the concept of developed India - Dr. Vijay Dhasmana

Rural Development Department Jolly Grant provide certificates to 19 Asha workers in 17th batch

So far, Asha certificate has been provided to 158 in a total of seven batches

The Rural Development Institute of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT) Jolly Grant provided certificates to participants who passed the Asha Certificate Course successfully.

19 participants passed in the seventh batch of Asha Certificate Course, conducted by the Rural Development Department. The chief guest of the program, Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, member of the presidential committee of HIHT and President of Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) and Dr. Ashok Deorari, Principal of Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), jointly honored them by giving them certificates.

Addressing the function, Dr. Vijay Dhasmana said that health indicators have an important role in making the concept of developed India meaningful, which ASHA workers are doing very well. ASHA is an important link in the field of rural health. The role of ASHA is important in a hilly state like Uttarakhand. Where doctors are not deployed in remote places of the mountains, ASHA workers are playing their important role there.

Principal Dr. Ashok Deorari, while highlighting the importance of community health workers, said that from safe motherhood to providing health education to the people and taking them to hospitals on time is an important task from the medical point of view. This ASHA workers are doing very well.

Dr. Rajeev Bijalwan, Deputy Director RDI, said that this course was started in the year 2019, and there were only eight students in the first batch. Today 42 students have taken admission in the eighth batch. This shows the interest of people towards this course. He told that this certificate course is of six months which is started every year in January and July. The minimum qualification for admission in this is high school.

Neelam Pandey thanked everyone in the program conducted under the supervision of program coordinator Sunil Khanduri. On this occasion, Registrar Dr. Mukesh Bijalwan, Director of Rural Development Institute B. Maithili, Head of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department Dr. Ruchira Nautiyal, Dr. AK Srivastava, Ravindra Verma, Vikas Semwal, Dr. Amandeep, Neelam Pandey, Pawandeep Kaur were present amongst others.
